Hmmmm.... Well.

Alright, so I guess I needed to have 12 concentrations and 12 Breath in today? Hmmm. Ya. Well, Here's what I got:
Concentrations:

Breath:

This one is done, but not really. I'm thinking about changing the text, because some might find it misleading (Donating $10 won't necessarily keep a child alive for 10 days, although it could.)

So.... Ya. That's what I got I guess? :P

Winter Wrapup *Update*

As the Winter trimester comes to a close, I figured it was about time for a little clean up. I went through my albums on Picasa and moved / removed some images. Some of the images became broken here on the blog, and I took some time to fix those that could be fixed. But some of them were older versions of art pieces that I removed, so I've simply replaced them with quick messages explaining why they're gone.

That said, it's time new a new Concentration! Had this one done friday, I just didin't get around to uploading it... Go figure. :P

Concentration 09 - Mountains

So... ya. Mountains. Honestly, I only have 3 left (and a cover) But ohh man am I running out of ideas. My next one is supposed to be a Movie Theatre of all things, and... heck if I can think of anything that might fit the life and lines theme. We'll see how that goes when I hit that road block (AKA, in a week)

And now, an update! Social Justice poster, away!

Yup. Unlockable Content. Or as the media knows it, on-disc DLC. You see, in modern years, the Video Game industry has created this rather ridiculous notion that users should pay for their disc... and it's data.... and then pay for it again. I personally find this to be silly, and I can't believe most gamers are perfectly okay with this. I can see the benefit of DLC (Or DownLoadable Content) in that you can extend the life of a disc-based game with more content. But paying for a program that just unlocks data you already payed for? That's just dumb. I didin't pay a whopping $60 only to have access to *most* of my game. I expect the full data - and experience - to be available to me from the get go. But whatever, that's my opinion on the matter. :P

Stickerbush Symphony

I return once again to the magical land of Blogger to post some more graphic design work. As Linguini put it best in Ratatouille, "Let's do this thing!"

My Signal-To-Noise poster. I admit I took a little inspiration from those old sharpe-based projects where you created a feeling or emotion using shapes. Noise seems like it would be a random mess of shapes scattered with no real thought. But I thought, to keep in the theme of digital works, I would make them more conform and more like pixels on a monitor. The 7 color shades on the bottom-half are based on the popular TV Screen Testing procedure that the organizers seem to like a lot. As for the dark red.... it was originally a placeholder, but it felt right so I just left it.

Concentration Number 8 - Desert. This is actually based on an older idea I had that was too generic and didn't fit the theme I was going with on these. I thought it'd be a bit of a waste to just let it sit there, so I messed with it a bit and got this. Not sure what I'm doing after this one... I have a long list of locations but no idea how to compose them at the moment.

Aaaaand as for other things: There are a lot of other things. I'm working with Nate on a new website that will hopefully be a place for others to share original works. I'm helping my friend Alex by drawing a cutscene for his game, Z-250. I'm also trying to keep a regular schedule on uploading videos to Youtube (I do Let's Plays - Playing video games while commentating) and streaming mini-marathons every Friday night on Twitch.tv. Oh, and let's not forget Project Data and jSonic, both of which I'm working on. And also, school work. I admit I'm kinda stepping on my own feet right now, but I think it's good to have lots of projects. It proves I'm not just some lazy kid sitting on facebook playing farmville all day. :P
Anyway, thanks for checking out my stuff. "Goodnight everybody!"

Dry Dry Desert, Lap 2

So... I've made some revisions to concentrations four and five. I've also finished Concentration seven. "Let's get down to business".

Concentration 04 Revision
Concentration 05 Revision

And now, for number 7: Swamplands.
Concentration 07

I know I'm not really doing anything groundbreaking with these pieces...They were never really meant to be complicated works; they were meant to be abstract and simplistic line forms. One could argue that, since concentration 1, my work has appeared more lazy and uninspired. I guess in some ways, that is true; but honestly I feel like I was trying too hard with Concentration 1 and what I'm currently doing is more in tune with what the project is trying to accomplish. I'll probably go more in-depth about the design philosophy when I finish this project.

And now, for a bonus! I did these a few months back and never got to uploading them to the blog.

Journal - Back

Journal - Front

The physical Journal is unfinished, and I'm not sure if I'm ever gonna finish it... So this will do.
See ya'll on the flip side!

Leggo my Logo!

Ya, so I guess I need to upload my logo package... cuz it's midterms I guess.

Because the logo is so thin and fine lined, I wanted to keep the designs as simple as possible. I didn't want other things to distract from it, so white background and light gray was used.

To clarify, on the left is the front of the card and the right is the back. behind it is a envelope and stationary, similar to the examples given on the AHS Apart blog.

Here is the logo itself:
I thought this one best represented me as a person and as a designer. A lot of my work is abstract shapes that can also be confined or symmetrical. Besides being my two favorite colors, I feel that at times I am very bold (red) but also trustworthy (blue) and am generally positive (light colors). Rounded corners goes with the more gentle feeling that many modern logos have gone towards.

Concentration 7 will be up real soon!

A Simple Nightmare..

Ya, okay, so maybe I haven't been keeping this blog up-to-date.... Whoops.
Well I guess now is as good of a time as any to update it!

First and most importantly, here are my Concentrations and my current work on my logo project. All of these have been done since Friday at least, but I'm a dork and forgot that they don't count as done until they're on the blog, so...

(For the sake of keeping my album clean, I've removed the old versions of these & replaced them with the finished ones. Sorry!)
May - Garden

 June - Island

December - Fireplace

I lost track of where I wanted to go with this project, so it took me some time to figure out where I'm going and how my designs will change over time. I'm not sure if I'm happy with this new batch... While I feel that they are more simplistic and focused, they also appear lazy and uninspired. Maybe it's because I've kinda lost sight of my goals for this project... Or maybe just something else.

And now, for the logo's:

Here are my three favorites of the six. I think I'm going to go with the one on the right, but make it thicker so it's more visible.

Outside of AP Studio Art itself, I've been helping a friend of mine put together a original content sharing site. I'm sorda the go-to for graphics so I've been hard at work on making original work for the site. Here is an example of something I put together; a logo for our team.

I've also done rank banners and a few site graphics for them that I don't have access to at the moment. I admit that I'm a bit more enthusiastic about this project right now...

Anyways, I think that's all I wanted to post about today. When I have more, I will share. Until than, "goodnight everybody!"
